World Of Piazzolla – Centennial Of His Birth
This year marks the centennial of the birth of Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992), a composer known for his tango masterpieces such as “Libertango” and “Adiós Nonino”. The music documentary-cum-entertainment program is led by Ryota Komatsu, a world-class bandoneon player, who happily introduces the natural face of Piazzolla and the appeal of his pieces.The highlight of the show is “Sinfonía Buenos Aires”, which Piazzolla wrote when he was young and aspiring to become a classical music composer. The piece was performed in Japan for the first time. The recording is in 2K images and 5.1 surround sound.
