The 85th Anniversary Concert of the inestimable Latvian Maestro Raimonds Pauls together with the outstanding mezzo-soprano and world opera star Elīna Garanča, is a long-cherished dream of both artists. Garanča’s voice sounds great, the characters she creates are extravagant, the performances – powerful. But the most emotional aspect of this concert is the creative chemistry between the Maestro and Elīna, their collaboration on stage. It is music that was already there when she was born, music that she grew up with and that accompanied her in the world, music that makes one come back and look at it with the distance of time.
