Baltic Music In Support Of Ukraine

This concert was the quick reaction of the Baltic symphony orchestras and choirs to the tragic events in Ukraine. In a broadcast from Riga, musicians from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania took the stage live and in video performances of inspiring music by the Baltic composers. The State Choir ‘Latvija’, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andris Poga played music by Pēteris Vasks, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra under Thomas Sanderling – music by Arvo Pärt, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under Gintaras Rinkevičius – Bronius Kutavičius’ music. The emotional “Lacrimosa” by Arturs Maskats and “Melody” by Myroslav Skoryk was also performed.
