Beethoven’s Ninth From The Megaron Concert Hall In Athens
Greek conductor Teodor Currentzis presents his first recording of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, produced at the Megaron Concert Hall in Athens. The history of the Ninth’s interpretations includes 200 years of staggering revelations and lingering stagnation. Performed by the MusicAeterna orchestra, choir, and stellar guest soloists, Beethoven’s opus magnum acquires the original poignancy and energy like a recent discovery. “This music has to do something with the human, has to do with a struggle of human being, to see oneself in the mirror of the eternity” (Teodor Currentzis).
