Guilio Cesare In Egitto

Giulio Cesare has pursued his political adversary Pompeo as far as Egypt. Tolomeo and his sister Cleopatra are supposed to rule Egypt together, but both want to rule alone. Tolomeo wants Cesare as an ally and presents him with Pompeo’s head. Cesare is disgusted. Meanwhile, Cleopatra tries to win Cesare with her beauty: disguised as “Lydia” she entrances Cesare. But when Tolomeo attacks Cesare’s army Cleopatra reveals her true identity. Cesare defeats Tolomeo and places Cleopatra on the throne.
