Jarmila Šuláková – Queen Of The Folk Song
Jarmila Šuláková has been one of the most important personalities in the interpretation of folklore music. She grew up in the Vsetín region, where she began to devote herself to it in the late 1940s. In 1952, she became a soloist of the Broln orchestra, with which she made over 600 radio recordings and numerous TV appearances. For generations of listeners, she became synonymous with folklore. The director Marta Gerlíková offers a comprehensive documentary view of Jarmila Šuláková's personality in her artistic and private life, compiled from the testimonies of her collaborators and friends and rich sources of archival materials.
