Madama Butterfly
Giacomo Puccini's "Madama Butterfly" is considered one of today's most popular operas and can be experienced for the first time in the unique setting on the lake stage of the Bregenz festival. The musical direction was taken over by conductor Enrique Mazzola, who was also responsible for the "Rigoletto" production. Director Andreas Homoki, artistic director of the Zurich Opera House, brought with him an internationally successful team that conjures up Japanese flair on Lake Constance with delicate landscape paintings in Michael Levine's magical stage design.
