Masaaki Suzuki’s Organ Travelogue In Northern Germany
Northern Germany became the nursery of diverse and rich organ culture in the 17th century. Organ builder Arp Schnitger is known to have manufactured many exceptional organs in this region. Masaaki Suzuki, a leading organist of Japan, visits St. James Church in Hamburg, St. Ludgeri Church in Norden, and St. Martini Church in Groningen in the Netherlands and performs pieces by Bach and Buxtehude on the finest organs created by Schnitger.
