P. Šivic, G. Strniša: Opera Unicorn, Slovenian National Opera And Ballet Theatre Of Ljubljana

The opera Unicorn, written by the Slovenian composer, pianist and music critic Pavel Šivic (1908–1955), was filmed in the beautiful setting of the Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ljubljana. The opera tells the story of a unicorn, the patron of a medieval town. In this first TV recording of Šivic's modern opera, the main roles are performed by Slovenia's leading opera singers. The music-theatre works of Pavel Šivic occupy a special place in his oeuvre and are considered the most diverse works in Slovenian musical literature.
