The Mahler Monologues

We have no moving images of Mahler and no recordings of his voice, but there are photos, texts and music. They've been brought together to form a whole in: The Mahler Monologues. It's neither a historical approach nor a chronological one, but a formula through which Mahler himself speaks to us. It sketches an image of the person Gustav Mahler, who struggles with life and with himself, but who can also be cheerful, loving and moody: in short, as he sounds in his music. He is his music. Music in which we too perceive a reflection and recognition of ourselves.
