A Dance Explosion

Choreographers Royston Maldoom and Tamara McLorg have forged an international reputation working with marginalised and disadvantaged people in areas such as Ethiopia, Peru, Palestine as well as in Europe. In 2015, the 4 Seasons youth dance project in Aberdeen brought them both back to Scotland for the first time in 30 years. Structured round Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, this documentary weaves the documentation of the Aberdeen International Youth festival dance project with the reflections of those involved in the youth “dance explosion” in Scotland in the 1980s, and includes contributions from people across the dance sector on the legacy of these extraordinary and influential choreographers.
