Perfect Gilbert

The main character Gilbert lives in the streets of Antwerp, homeless after his best friend, his brother died several years ago. Gilbert is a heart warming person, filled with kindness. He works in an every weekend flea market in a car park garage center of Antwerp. He was selling things that he found here and there, coat hangers, scarfs, forks etc. but most importantly he was selling his paintings. Using any paper he finds and also uses old CDs, he even sold a collection to king Philippe of Belgium. The garage was his choice of location for this film, a place where he feels like home. About Perfect Humans - behind the scenes: The perfect Human series is inspired by the Perfect Human short film by Jorgern Leth in 1967. Helen's Perfect Human series of portraits of so called “non dancers”. They pick out the locations, where they feel at home, their own outfits and their favorite music to use on location. With the camera as their dance partner they dance around the space for over an hour or so, “Just as they are”. Then the music is either specially composed for the film or all ready made with permission from the composer. The performers do not take part in the post production.
