Vestiges

Vestiges is choreographed by Mary Fitzgerald and Eileen Standley in collaboration with dancers Taimy Miranda and Joan Rodriguez. Incorporating animation by Casey Farina and camerawork by filmmaker Dmitri von Klein, this piece uses live performance, animation and film to transform the fleeting nature of movement. What is left behind when the motion of the physical body is no longer visible? Choreography and dance embrace impermanence and corporeal bounds. And while digital technologies cannot even begin to capture the visceral quality of movement, film and animation harvest information, creating shadow effects of the choreography, offering a vestige of embodied experiences.
