DANCESCREEN 2019 AWARD FOR BEST SCREEN CHOREOGRAPHY UP TO 5 MINUTES

'A group of ballet dancers is taking the park for one day’. Inspired by the musicals from the '20s and ‘30s, Spanish choreographer Cayetano Soto created the ballet Conrazoncorazon. The choreography is a powerful, extremely physical ensemble work: funny, exuberant, and fast. Because of the unisex costumes and the riding caps the dancers wear, the ballet has something sporty, but it also reminds of the grotesque 'Weimar Cabaret' from the twenties of the last century, as we know from the legendary filmmusical Cabaret. In the short film Conrazoncorazon ('With reason and heart’) the dancers of Introdans move to the park, creating a surreal atmosphere with an ode to the musical.
