A Modern Twist
A Modern Twist was initially created as part of a dissertation module to explore the following question: how can the filming ideas in Rachel Davies’ Gold (2004) be explored on film through the fusion of dance and gymnastics? The piece delves deep into the life of an elite gymnast and aims to be a celebration of gymnastics as an aesthetic sport, discovering how differently it can be to be perceived through the eyes of another gymnast as opposed to through the eyes of a spectator in a competition.
