“Not too long ago. She was a lump of coal. She was a heap of useless flesh. A voiceless substance. A pixilated image of something that once was. Not too long ago she was plugged into wires. Pumped full of liquids. Fuelled by machines.” After incurring a head injury in 2006, I was rendered immobile. Eventually, and with great effort, I regained my speech and mobility. This short film is a reflection and response to this time. Of losing everything I once knew without questioning. Of the long journey towards coming to understand my body and soul once more.
