Igor Stravinsky achieved international fame with his ballet compositions. He was a revolutionary who pushed the boundaries of musical design. The Stuttgart Ballet - one of the world's most renowned companies - presented the premiere of a new triple bill as a tribute to Stravinsky. Cherkaoui is one of Europe's most innovative choreographers. Using Stravinsky's complex composition as its inspiration his Firebird explores themes of death, rebirth and regeneration. Resident choreographer Demis Volpi creates a new Soldier's Tale in dance. With The Song of the Nightingale Goecke evokes avian associations and shows his inimitable, highly original style of movement.
