"With Triumph I think it’s the relentlessness of the beat, the pace you almost feel out of breath chasing and as all of this exists some how a sadness sits quite comfortably on top of it too, I was drawn to that. At the time of discussion Gwil was watching endless amounts of Ghanaian dance footage on YouTube and I had been working on various music videos and live work with Nandi Bhebhe, one of my most long standing dancers. I knew Nandi had a background in African dance and it was a no brainer to put the two together. As a choreographer I wanted to make something that could present a huge celebration of Nandi, her dancing, her beauty, her massive strength, whilst creating something that touches on of African dance and the role it offers in driving the music. Equally the power of the female played a major role in the videos final identity; I wanted her to feel lucid, resilient and almost bursting with fertility." - Holly Blakey, Director/Choreographer
