Today US-Topstars like Timberland or Jay-Z are looking for collaborations with African musicians. Beyoncé for instance uses the South African national dance Pantsula for her stage show. With the epoch-making success of the film Black Panther, Africa's enthusiasm also finds its echo in US blockbuster cinema, bringing Africa and the Diaspora closer together. Africa is back in global pop! The documentary Africa Rising takes the “Africa renaissance” in pop culture, art, fashion and movies as an opportunity to tell the story of great developments in African pop culture and its impact on the west from the 60s until today with the most important stars and contemporary witnesses.
