Akutuk

  • © Thibaud Vernier

Akutuk is a rhythmic technic of aquatic percussion with your bear hands. It deals with a subtle mix of air, water and body energy and is mostly played in rivers to celebrate water spirits. It’s passed down from generation to generation (women to women) in the Cameroonian forest.
