Backstage Nabucco

  • © Czech Television

One of the most famous contemporary tenors, Jose Cura from Argentina, introduces himself in a long-term documentary as a director and set designer. How did he cope with his new role and how do other soloists perceive him when they know he can sing every role? For Prague's State Opera Jose Cura prepared Verdi's Nabucco, a biblical tale about a King of Babylon which is an essential part of the repertoire of every opera house. The documentary observes Jose Cura from his first meetings with the soloists, as well as the Prague State Opera's chorus, from the beginning of May 2018 through to the June premiere.
