In September 2007, Egon Madsen, the great star of John Cranko’s Stuttgart company, celebrated a sensational success at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart alongside Eric Gauthier in Christian Spuck's Don Q., which toured Europe and Asia. A decade later, Christian Spuck has revised the piece and re-choreographed parts of it. Inspired by the novel Don Quixote, Don Q. is a dance revue that leads the audience into a world of memories and nostalgia. Egon, an elderly gentleman, and his young companion Eric live in a tragic and absurd partnership of convenience from which there is no way out.
