Fata Morgana

  • © Les Films Jack Fébus

Fata Morgana is the name of a choreographic work dreamt up by Béatrice Massin for quirky places. It draws inspiration from fatas morganas, the optical phenomena born of a particular combination of mirages, resulting in the illusion of a vertical detachment of some elements. Inspired by the baroque and working with music by Mozart, Bach and Buonamente, Béatrice Massin creates variations on that vertical illusion with dancing bodies that lead the audience to meander among the varied sections of the parks and gardens of the Castle of Bouges, an elegant 18th-century “folly” that once belonged to Talleyrand.
