One Mic Session

  • © Les Films Jack Fébus

One Mic Session takes up the challenge of confronting a group of young Millennials with the technical constraints of recording in the 1950s. Returning to analogue technology for these sessions resuscitated the crackling, static, gritty imperfections, and tape sounds as emotional catalysts. It turned out to be an arduous exercise for amplified and electronic music. Far From Alaska, an adventurous rock group with unusual sororities, gave it a try in the company of Dot Legacy, at the Clouterie de Creil, a former factory, using film projectors for lighting. The outcome – both visually and in terms of sound, is striking.
