Rachmaninov Days – Denis Matsuev

On 1 April 2018, the world celebrated the 145th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff, one the greatest Russian composers. Moscow Philharmonic Society marked this event with two performances: two nights in a row, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall will entertain its patrons with the full cycle of Rachmaninoff's piano concertos performed by a stellar lineup featuring Denis Matsuev and Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky. The programme of the first evening included the Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2 and the Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini.The next day, the Piano Concertos Nos. 3 & 4 were performed, in combination with the symphonic fantasia The Rock.
