Riccardo Chailly And Lucerne Festival Orchestra: Ravel
Riccardo Chailly succeeded to put his own stamp on the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. In his third year as the LFO’s music director, he pays tribute to Maurice Ravel with a programme of waltzes and wild revels, ecstasy and elegance. He ushers us into Ravel’s musical worlds that are always fresh, full of changing colours, perfumes, and flavours, from the pulsating three-quarter time of the waltz in dances that reflect nostalgically on a world that has perished, to the ancient love story of Daphnis and Chloé, culminating in the relentless rhythms of the Boléro. Magnifique!
