The Young Ensemble is a pool of young dancers who will join the ranks of the Batsheva Dance Company. But for Ohad Naharin, it is first and foremost a class of excellence: proof with Sadeh21, one of the major pieces of the Batsheva repertoire. Created by Ohad Naharin, Sadeh21 shows movement in its most simple bareness. Dance, with effects of slow-motion and abrupt acceleration, takes on the appearance of an almost cinematographic odyssey: “a voyage for the body”. Sadeh21 reveals itself in the end as one of the most endearing pieces of master Naharin – “irradiating and radioactive, dangerous and exciting”. Everything in Sadeh21 is exceptional.
