The Closing Gala of the 17th Moscow Easter Festival under the baton of Maestro Valery Gergiev was held in The Grand Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire. Maestro Gergiev decided to devote it to Sergei Rachmaninoff, as the 145th anniversary of his birth was celebrated in 2018. The Symphony No. 2 and the Piano Concerto No. 5 were perfomed by the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, with soloist Bekhzod Abduraimov.
