What, basically, is the German Lied? The German Lied was born really in 1814, when an eighteen-year-old Schubert put Goethe's spinning daisy to music. During the nineteenth century, Germany will passionately practice this form of expression, the most natural in art. With his usual verve, André Tubeuf explains the story and reveals the most precious treasures. According to him, the Lied, it is an approach: Schubert. An origin: silence. And a matter: water.
