At age 27, the Israeli conductor Lahav Shani exhibits uncommon talent. Revealed by his victory at the 2013 International Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition in Bamberg (Germany), he made a powerful impression thanks to his maturity, ease and instinctive musicality. Under his leadership, the Toulouse Capitole National Orchestra sets works by Dukas, Stravinsky and Mussorgsky ablaze, and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the emblematic 20th-century composer Leonard Bernstein by interpreting the famous dance numbers from West Side Story and the overture of his opera Candide.
