Avner Dorman: Wahnfried

Avner Dorman's new opera Wahnfried – which depicts the relationship between the failing English scientist Houston Stewart Chamberlain, the Wagner family and the young Adolf Hitler – was hailed by the critics. After eleven years, Wahnfried is once again the first full-length opera at the Badisches Staatsheater Karlsruhe. Under the direction of Wagner specialist Justin Brown (GMD), this opera tells the story of the Wagner clan. A grotesque and provocative struggle behind the walls of Wahnfried.
