Rudolf Nureyev admired Alexandre Kalioujny’s methods of teaching dance. At the request of Kalioujny, Elisabeth Platel, dancer Etoile and former student of Kalioujny, had taken up his exercises and classes in writing. She wrote notebooks covering two years of Kalioujny’s classes and promised Rudolf Nureyev to publish them. The book could not be made. This film, commissioned by the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation, aims to keep in mind the teaching methods of dance by Alexander Kalioujny.
