Eifman Ballet: Rodin – Her Eternal Idol
Russian choreographer Boris Eifman has created many hits using innovative techniques to reveal the characters’ state of mind. From the Tokyo performance of the Eifman Ballet which he leads, Rodin depicting the life of sculptor Auguste Rodin will be featured. The love-hate drama between Rodin, who devotes himself avidly to creative activity and earns fame, and the two women who wear themselves out both physically and spiritually for the artist are shown at times dynamically, at times in coquettish ways. An acrobatic staging where the dancers with well-toned physique turn into sculptures before one’s eyes will surprise the audience endlessly.
