Homecoming

  • Eldbjørg Hemsing © Nikolaj Lund / Hestia Arts

Norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing tells the unique story of how her ancestor´s singing of a folk tune, ended up as the main theme in Edvard Grieg´s Ballad op. 24. With the original notation of the melody as her source, she records her own homage to her ancestor in the beautiful church in her hometown Aurdal, where the folk tune came from. This is the first small output of a bigger project that is currently unconfirmed (November 2019), but in development.
