Great Mass In C Minor

  • Great Mass In C minor, Mozarteum Foundation © Naxos Audiovisual Division

The new reconstruction of Mozart's unfinished Mass In C Minor K. 427 made by Ulrich Leisinger was presented to the public for the first time on 5 August at the Salzburg Festival performed by an excellent quartet of soloists, the Camerata Salzburg and the Bach Choir Salzburg under the direction of Andrew Manze – in the city where the premiere had taken place in 1783. The new version contains all the parts which were set to music by Mozart (but without a new composition of the missing parts of Credo and Agnus Dei out of respect for the genius).
