Joji Hattori – Wanderer Between The Worlds

  • Joji Hattori © ORF – Austrian Broadcasting Corporation

Born in Tokyo and raised in Vienna, Joji Hattori is a person with two identities. He looks like a Japanese, speaks like a Viennese and has his heart in both worlds – even as an artist. He was a musical prodigy, won the Yehudi Menuhin competition and made a career as a solo violinist, before he became more interested in conducting. In 2015, he established the finest Japanese restaurant in Vienna, constantly searching for new and adventurous creations. This cinematic essay shows Joji Hattori on his travels between Europe and Asia, between music and cuisine.
