Jonas Kaufmann: My Vienna

This programme is Jonas Kaufmann’s tribute to the immortal melodies of one of the world’s most beautiful cities. The tenor has always had a special rapport with Austria and Vienna. His grandmother had a fondness for the light classics and was happy to sing the operetta evergreens and mastering Viennese dialect was Kaufmann’s child’s play. In addition to the Johann Strauß favourites, the concert programme contains a wide selection of Viennese songs, ranging from Robert Stolz to Peter Kreuder and Hermann Leopoldi. Interwoven with the concert programme are documentary parts in which Jonas Kaufmann shares his favourite Viennese places with us.
