Thielemann Conducts Bruckner No. 2
“We are looking forward to returning soon if we are invited”, declared Christian Thielemann modestly after his triumphant Elbphilharmonie debut together with the Staatskapelle Dresden in February 2017. It is fair to say that the ten minutes of resounding applause after that concert was equivalent to a spontaneous invitation to come back. The venerable orchestra and their Principal Conductor make skilled use of the new hall’s clear acoustics, filling the space with ist warm sound: simply phenomenal! “In the Elbphilharmonie Thielemann once again proved to be the unrestricted ruler on his ancestral territory, German Romantic repertoire” (Hamburger Abendblatt)
