The performance was produced with the intention of delivering a new opera from Japan to the world as we await the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. Puccini’s opera known for fine arias such as Nessun Dorma will be presented by an international cast. Iréne Theorin plays the cold-hearted Turandot in an overwhelming performance. The role of Calaf is performed by Romanian opera singer Teodor Ilincăi. Eri Nakamura, who is also active overseas, is an impressingly expressive Liu. The Barcelona Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Kazushi Ono. Please pay close attention to the electrifying ending prepared by director Àlex Ollé.
