Villa-Lobos – From Bach To Brazil

  • Heitor Villa-Lobos, the composer © Museu Villa-Lobos

Villa-Lobos composed over 1150 works including String Quartets, Symphonies, Ballets and Operas. His compositions for the guitar are among the most revered works and were performed by luminaires such as Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, John Williams, Turibio Santos and many other virtuosos, but he also contributed greatly to Brazil's music education with his enormous choir gatherings that would join over 40,000 youngsters to sing folkloric songs and anthems.
