András Schiff In Weimar

  • © ARD

The Hungarian pianist András Schiff stands like a rock in the contemporary piano landscape. He is a musical exegete who works deeply into the piano and chamber music literature, a philosopher at the piano who deals with sound and structure. Last but not least, he is a political artist who openly spoke out against the restrictions on democratic rights in his country of origin. In the baroque Anna Amalia Bibliothek in Weimar, Schiff plays music by Bach, Beethoven and Schubert.
