Bel Canto – The Tenors Of The 78 Era

Bel Canto is the largest television project ever produced about historical opera singing. In thirteen films with excerpts from over a hundred feature films, news reels and privately made movies the great tenors of the first half of the 20th century are portrayed. For the new edition all the material was restored using the original sources. A newly conceived short version of the series presents the highlights of Bel Canto in two 60-minute episodes. Bel Canto was awarded at the Columbus International Film Festival and at Classique en Images. In 2019 it received the prestigious ICMA Award.
