Collegium 1704 – Messiah
As a part of the St Wenceslas Music Festival in Ostrava, the Collegium 1704 ensemble performed the most renowned opus of world oratory music – Georg Friedrich Händel’s Messiah. The Collegium 1704 ensemble was formed by cembalist and conductor Václav Luks in 2005. It is a frequent guest of festivals and prestigious hosts across Europe where it performs not only the canonical works of 17th and 18th century music but also introduces international audiences to the works of Czech masters, especially Jan Dismas Zelenka and Josef Mysliveček.
