LA PHIL: The Tradition Of The New
The Los Angeles Philharmonic is turning 100, celebrating its past by looking toward the future. When The New York Times proclaims: “The Los Angeles Philharmonic is the most important orchestra in America. Period”, there must be more behind such a praise, raising quite a number of questions that shall be explored in the film. The documentary includes a historical part to trace the steps that played a part in where the orchestra stands today, shows the orchestra and Gustavo Dudamel at rehearsals and concerts, captures the work with YOLA and the collaboration with artists like Herbie Hancock und John Williams.
