Le Vol Du Boli

  • Rehearsing Le Vol Du Boli © Hélène Pambrun

Abderrahmane Sissako and Damon Albarn tell the story of a boli, a Malian animist fetish, between Africa and Europe from the 12th to the 21st century. Le Vol Du Boli thus captures an African history, from the Mandingo Empire – the largest that Africa has known, founded in the 13th century – to the present day, including colonization. On stage, nearly 40 artists, singers, dancers, actors, musicians, griots and performers will be present. Music composed by Damon Albarn and Malian musicians. The project was originally designed as part of the Season Africa2020. As such, it benefits from the support of its Patrons Committee.
