Münchner Philharmoniker & Karina Canellakis
New York-born conductor Karina Canellakis makes her debut with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra on the occasion of the Beethoven Year with the composer's Fourth Symphony in a slimmed-down version. The concert opens with a minimalist classic from her native USA, Shaker Loops by John Adams – inspired by the rippling movements of water, the ritual shaking dances of the American religious community of the Shakers or even just simply the sound of a cocktail shaker.
