Uotinen Goes Kekkonen

The dance and multi-artistic work is based on Finland’s long-term president Urho Kekkonen, and especially on his love letters and love life. The performance consists of President Kekkonen’s life with his wife, and in addition, with other important relationships to women alongside this life with his wife. Kekkonen aimed at building peace, connected East and West, he kissed the Russian Brezhnev, and he dreamed of the nuclear-free North. He invited all to the mighty Helsinki 1975 Summit. He took off weapons and the clothes of women, and in the sauna he also got men to strip.
