Zazà

Zazà is the star of the variety theatre in Saint-Etienne. Only the businessman Milio Dufresne seems not to adore her. Zazà bets that she will conquer him. She wins but falls deeply in love with Milio and wants to marry him. But the dream breaks when she is told that Milio lives in Paris with another woman. There she finds out that Milio has been lying to her about his circumstances: He is married and has a little daughter. Zazà decides not to destroy the girl’s happiness, ends the affair and accepts her fate as a music hall star.
