8K: Revival Of Legendary Fine Performances – The Golden Age Of “Emperor“ Karajan And The Berlin Philharmonic
The programs present fine performances by maestro Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic during the 1970s that are coveted by the fans. They include a piano concerto by Rachmaninoff performed by expert pianist Alexis Weissenberg, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and all symphonies by Brahms. Negative films capturing the images of Karajan who was passionate about filming his performances were stored frozen in the archives of Unitel. Through the latest technology, NHK remastered them into 8K images and 22.2 multichannel sound. The visual beauty carefully created by Karajan has been restored for us to see. Three programs in total.
