A clever and at the same time very intriguing staging of Berlioz' opera by Damiano Michieletto at the hight of Covid 19 when a chorus on stage was not allowed and soloists had to keep a minimum distance between themselves. Daniele Rustioni nevertheless knows how to create musical tension between the couples and Vincent Massip focusses his cameras in such a way that you follow the plot with ease. A very courageous undertaking by Lyon opera and a wonderful way of rediscovering this very rarely performed opera by Hector Berlioz.
